Our take
The RMS220 is Raise3D's entry into selective laser sintering, announced in 2025 and commercially launching through 2026. It pairs a 75 W fiber laser (1064 nm) with a 220 x 220 x 350 mm / 17 L build volume and quotes up to 5 kg of PA12 parts per day — throughput numbers that compete with machines costing far more. Layer heights run from 0.05 to 0.40 mm, so it can go finer than most benchtop rivals on detail while still cranking out thick, fast layers for bulk jobs. The package (with the Build Unit 220) lists at $34,999, undercutting complete Fuse-style setups while offering more raw build volume per dollar. The honest caveat: this is a first-generation SLS platform from a company known for FDM. Powder handling is still manual, the dealer-network sales and support model differs from buying consumer printers, and long-term field data is thinner than Formlabs'. For buyers comfortable with that, it is the most interesting value proposition in benchtop SLS right now.
Pros
- 75 W fiber laser with fast scanning — up to 2.2 L of parts per hour
- 17 L build volume and up to 5 kg of PA12 parts per day
- 0.05 mm minimum layer height — among the finest in its class
- Priced below comparable benchtop SLS setups at $34,999
Cons
- First-generation SLS platform — less field data than established rivals
- Sold through dealers, not retail; no Amazon availability
- Manual powder workflow, like every machine in this class
Verdict
The most compelling new benchtop SLS of 2026: huge volume and speed per dollar, in exchange for accepting a brand-new platform.
